Baseball has never been sexier in an all-new novel by New York Times Bestselling Author, K. Bromberg.
Easton Wylder is baseball royalty. The game is his life. His passion. His everything. So, when an injury threatens to end Easton’s season early, the team calls in the renowned physical therapist, Doc Dalton, to oversee his recovery. Except it’s not Doc who greets Easton for his first session, but rather his daughter, Scout.
She may be feisty, athletic, defiant, and gorgeous, but Easton is left questioning whether she has what it takes to help him. Scout Dalton’s out to prove a female can handle the pressure of running the physical therapy regimen of an MLB club. And that proof comes in the form of getting phenom Easton Wylder back on the field. But getting him healthy means being hands-on. And with a man as irresistible as Easton, being hands-on can only lead to one thing, trouble. Because the more she touches him, the more she wants him, and she can’t want him.
Not when it’s her job to side in the club’s best interest if he’s ready to play. But when sparks fly and fine lines are crossed, can they withstand the heat or is one of them bound to get burned?
Love & baseball… what else would anyone need??? I really enjoyed this book. Loved the interactions between the characters, loved the story line and the fact that this book had me laughing from the very first page. This was my first read by K. Bromberg and I’ll be going back for more.
This book was written so perfectly that I went through all the feelings the characters were going through, from sad to happy, frustrated to excited, annoyed to fan myself hot. The chemistry between Easton and Scout was electric enough to charge the entire room they were in, and the banter between them were so much fun to read about. I am a big fan of sports, whether it would be to watch or to play, and I just loved how there was a very good mixture of everything that’s baseball in this book.
Now, the characters… Let’s start with Easton Wylder, the back catcher for the Ace’s. He’s the son of a legend and “the total package”. Under his arrogant demeanor is a sweet, swoon-worthy, loyal man who will melt your heart with every page he’s on. The more I read Easton’s story, the more I fell in love with his character.
Scout Dalton, the heroine, has decided to follow in her father’s footsteps after a tragic loss, and become a physical therapist. She’s got too many secrets to hide, promises to keep and goals to accomplish. There’s no room for falling for “The player” in her play book. Under her calm and cool demeanor, there’s a girl who’s afraid to lose all those who she loves and cares for.
I really enjoyed reading about how Easton was finally able to slowly break the protective walls Scout’s build around her heart and get to know her in a personal level. I loved how sweet he was with her. And loved their instant connection. I also loved how Scout was able to stand up for him whenever needed and help Easton get to his goals.
Before I start giving away the entire book, I am going to sign off… However, I can’t help it but to say “OMG!!!! That ending – epic cliff-hanger” and I am so excited for the upcoming release of “The Catch” second book in the story (will be following the same characters) on June 29, 2017.
I would recommend this book to anyone who loves a good sports romance.
