Joshua Dawson is my best friend’s ex-boyfriend. That alone should be reason enough for me to keep my distance. Add in that he’s a well mannered, loyal and hardworking artist and I should be running in the other direction.
He’s damn near perfect, and I prefer my men hard to love and easy to leave. Josh’s only flaw is he wants forever, and for the first time I might want the same. But loving someone doesn’t mean you deserve them.
He’s all I want and everything I can’t have.
This book was simply a masterpiece. This was my second book I’ve read by Jacob Chance and once again he didn’t disappoint. This is a frenemies to lovers story and was written to perfection.
Alright, I won’t lie, at the beginning I really couldn’t connect with Elle’s character… She seemed too distant, cold and bitchy but once I got to know her more throughout the book, I understood her reasoning for wanting to stay away and put distance between herself and Josh. She’s had a rough upbringing (I hated her father’s character, and her mother’s non-existence) and a lot of trust issues due to a past relationship that’s gone wrong. In her strong facade was a vulnerable girl who just wanted to be loved.
Josh… now there is no words to describe Josh… He’s the perfect alpha male in every way possible with a side of sensitivity. He’s head over heels in love with Elle and isn’t afraid to show it. He’s totally swoon worthy… I mean who says ‘you are in my heart too, and I never want you to leave‘… Ahhh… sooo sweeeeet. 💕💕💕 Well, I will say this, when you read this book, chapter 14 will melt your heart ❤️.
Well, let me talk about the chemistry between these two… ohhh boy!!! Sparks ⚡️ all around, each time these guys were on the same page together. I know one thing, Jacob Chance can write tension and chemistry between two characters perfectly.
Guys, I loved this book. There were angsty parts, funny parts, swoon worthy parts… There was however this one part of the book, that was just pure perfection. The part where we see the inspiration for the beautiful work that’s the cover art. Just fantastic!! Read it, you won’t be disappointed at all.
